Bridging the Implementation Gap Between Insight and Action
Hand-in-Glove Approach
Effective ADHD treatment often requires a multi-modal approach. While psychotherapy addresses the emotional regulation, trauma, and psychological patterns associated with ADHD, coaching provides the behavioral scaffolding necessary to implement those clinical insights.
I view our relationship as a Circle of Care. By handling the 'boots on the ground' executive function strategies, such as time management, environmental design, and habit-stacking, I help stabilise the client’s daily life. This stabilisation often leads to more productive therapy sessions, as the client is no longer in a constant state of crisis management.
Coaching Scope of Practice
I focus on bridging the 'Implementation Gap' or the space where a client gains profound insight in your office but struggles to bridge that gap when they hit the front door.
ADHD coaching is designed to live in that gap and avoids any ‘scope creep’ with therapy.
-

Primary Lens
Action & Performance: Focus on the "implementation gap" and functional outcomes for desired change.
-

Time Focus
The Present & Future; Designing systems for tomorrow and navigating today’s obstacles, while maintaining context.
-

Session Structure
Tactical & Directive: Goal-setting, strengths-based approach to habit change and system building.
-

Desired Outcome
Environmental Mastery: Improved confidence and self-acceptance and real-life progress and change.
Your Questions Answered

While CBT and DBT are evidence-based treatments for ADHD, they primarily focus on cognitive restructuring and emotional regulation. ADHD coaching is the "scaffolding" that supports those modalities. I focus on uncovering self-limiting beliefs that no longer serve your clients and help them build long-lasting ones that move them in the direction they want to go in.
-
I maintain a strict Scope of Practice boundary. If a client exhibits symptoms of clinical depression or crisis during a coaching session, I pause the work. I acknowledge the importance of what they’ve shared and explicitly direct them to discuss those topics with you, their therapist. With their permission, I will often follow up with you directly to ensure the "warm hand-off" back to the clinical space is successful.
-
Absolutely. While many of my clients are medicated, coaching is a "skills-based" intervention. I work with clients to build systems that work for their specific brain, whether they are utilising pharmacological support or not. I will never prescribe or recommend medication. I however can help clients understand what to expect from medication which is often widely misunderstood.
-
Yes. Research increasingly shows that the most effective treatment for ADHD is a "multi-modal" approach. While medication and therapy address the neurobiology and psychology, coaching addresses the functional impairment. I utilise frameworks informed by the latest neurodiversity-affirming research and Executive Function models. I am happy to discuss and share more if requested.

A client is generally ready for coaching when they:
Are no longer in an acute psychological crisis.
Can articulate a desire for change in their lives (work, home, or school).
Have enough emotional stability to handle the "trial and error" nature of building new habits.
-
No. While many of my clients come to me with a formal diagnosis, an official diagnosis is not a prerequisite for coaching. My approach is focused on functional support rather than clinical pathology.
“I came to Ramy hoping to work through communication struggles, but ended up experiencing healing in a tender part of my life. His insight, compassion, and steady presence helped me feel safer and more at peace. He created a space where I could show up fully and I am genuinely grateful”
